Konnichi wa
Day 3 kicked off earlier than usual as we met an Oofuchi harvest at 7-00 am. This traditional old fashioned farmer produces many varieties including Kujaku, Ochiba, Beni Kikokuryu, Ai Goromo, and recently a new variety SUMI SAKURA! We now have 2 lovely Sansai examples of this unique koi. We spent several hours here today and will come back to meet future harvests later in our trip.
We then left around 10-30am, as we had arranged the 1st selection of Tsuna`s nisai harvest. Tsuna san is really struggling with his back and general health but with the aid of his friends he has continued to produce some lovely koi and also new varieties. Today we selected his Kin Ki Utsuri, Doitsu Sanke and Gin Rin Kohaku.
Kansuke, Koda and Gengiro were then visited prior to our last harvest selection at Yogoro. This breeder has worked for Dainichi for many years and his father is also a veteran breeder of top quality koi. We also selected nisai here including some jumbo bodied Hi Utsuri, Gin Rin Tancho, Kujaku, Kin Showa and Showa.
