Koi Sales Manager Job Description

We are looking for a knowledgeable and commercially minded Koi Sales Manager to join Koi Water Garden and help drive sales, customer satisfaction and long-term growth.
This role is ideal for someone with strong koi knowledge, proven sales ability and the confidence to advise customers on everything from fish selection to pond systems and aftercare.

A Full UK Drivers License is required for this position

What you’ll do:

  • Manage day-to-day koi sales activity, helping customers choose the right koi, pond products and care solutions.
  • Deliver excellent customer service in store, over the phone and through enquiries, building trust and repeat business.
  • Use previous sales experience to convert enquiries into sales and maximise each customer opportunity.
  • Advise customers on koi care, pond health, water quality and general maintenance using strong practical knowledge.
  • Support and educate customers on filtration systems, pumps and related pond equipment, recommending suitable products for their setup.
  • Carry out or assist with water testing and basic microscope use where needed to help diagnose pond or fish health issues.
  • Use knowledge of koi varieties and breeder bloodlines to guide customer decisions and support higher-value koi sales.
  • Support conversations around pond construction and pond system requirements, helping customers understand what is needed for successful setups.
  • Maintain high standards in the store appearance, pond husbandry, present livestock and products professionally and work closely with the wider team to support business targets.

What you’ll need:

  • Strong koi knowledge is essential.
  • Previous sales experience, ideally in a retail, specialist or high-value customer environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills and confidence dealing directly with customers.
  • Good knowledge of filtration systems, pumps and pond equipment.
  • Understanding of koi care, water quality and fish health.
  • Experience using, or willingness to learn, microscope and water testing procedures.
  • Good knowledge of koi varieties and breeder lines.
  • Understanding of pond construction and how complete pond systems work together.
  • Professional, organised and confident in a customer-facing role.
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 salary, depending on experience, plus sales bonus/commission on koi sales.
