Isa Maruyo Koi farm is one of the few breeders that are still producing good Ki Utsuri – A variety that seems to have dwindled in production over the past 15 years or so. Only a handful of breeders now actively breed Ki Utsuri and Isa Maruyo are often up there with some of the best.
The farms Doitsu Kujaku production seems to go from strength to strength every year. Some wonderful patterns are created with great scalation and sharp Kiwa. The Oyagoi sets used are some thirty years old and although not so visually appealing themselves anymore, they produce many excellent offspring.
Isa Maruyo’s Showa are known for their dramatic and dynamic patterns. These Koi combine deep black (sumi) markings with vibrant Beni and soft Shiroji, creating a bold and striking appearance.
