Nishiki Maruhide Koi Farm (錦丸秀養鯉場 – “Nishiki Maruhide Yōriba”)

Nishiki Maruhide Koi Farm, operated by Hidemasa Hirasawa, is located in Ojiya, Niigata Prefecture—one of Japan’s most esteemed regions for Nishikigoi breeding. Founded around 2016, the farm focuses on the Doitsu Gosanke varieties—Doitsu Kohaku, Doitsu Showa, and Doitsu Sanke—a rare specialty among Niigata breeders  .

Since its establishment, Nishiki Maruhide Koi Farm has pursued mastery in a niche field. Drawing on Hidemasa Hirasawa’s training experience as an apprentice at the prestigious Isa Koi Farm, the breeder blends time‑honoured techniques with refined vision  .

As one of only a few farms in Niigata dedicated exclusively to Doitsu Gosanke, Nishiki Maruhide has quickly built a reputation for producing koi with exceptional clean lines, bold coloration, and the characteristic scaleless elegance of Doitsu forms  .

Nishiki Maruhide koi have garnered notable accolades, including a Sakura Prize at the All Japan Koi Show and more recently, a prestigious award at the ZNA (Zen-Nippon Nishikigoi Kyokai)  . These honors reflect the breeder’s dedication to quality and promise for future recognition.
